Drake Star Partners advises Ponooc and management on the sale of ServiceHouse

Digital Utility (Renewable Energies)

Amsterdam (March 18, 2021)

Ponooc has sold ServiceHouse, the innovative digital utility in the Netherlands that offers integrated renewable energy supply and (electric) mobility solutions.

The Mobility and Energy Transition team of Drake Star Partners Amsterdam acted as the exclusive financial advisor to management and Ponooc in its sale. Ponooc is the independently acting venture capital arm of the Pon family, investing in European mobility and energy ventures.

Following the successful transaction of the Germany-based energy storage and charging solution provider The Mobility House[1], Drake Star solidifies its leading position and track record in M&A advisory services in the Energy Transition domain, representing its 4th landmark transaction in Q1 2021 and the 19th consecutive deal in its overall Mobility and Energy Transition vertical.

Frank Verbeek, Managing Partner and Head of the Global Mobility and Energy Transition team at Drake Star Partners Amsterdam, commented: “ServiceHouse will grow even faster within this strategic partnership which why this is another deal with all stakeholders coming out as clear winners. Next to the group of more traditional buyers, we see new entrants playing a significant role in the Energy Transition."

Driven by economic, societal, and political factors, the world is increasingly transitioning towards renewable energies and electrification globally. This trend is substantiated and represented by the continued steep adoption of electric vehicles in 2020, which reached its tipping point in the leading EV countries in Europe. Driven by the increasingly converging mobility and energy industries, state-of-the-art technology and leading innovation will be the decisive factors and endgame within this megatrend and will shape the winners of the Energy Transition. Drake Star foresees a continued activity of companies entering the sustainable energy markets, focused on owning and strengthening the relationship with the end-customer through integrated, innovative, and technology-driven value positions.

Drake Star Partners is excited to support stakeholders in the Energy Transition space in their market expansion efforts to fully leverage its unparalleled expertise and extensive network in the industry as a whole.
